Strateski 2027: Hokkaido

It’s better to be at Strateski and thinking about work than to be at work and thinking about Strateski.

Why Hokkaido?

There’s skiing, and then there’s skiing in Hokkaido.

The island is famous for its deep, light powder snow, attracting skiers from around the world throughout the winter season. For Strateski 2027, we’ll be staying at The Westin Rusutsu Resort, surrounded by the mountains and forests of Hokkaido.

But there’s much more to the experience than skiing. Between sessions on the slopes, there’ll be time to experience Japanese ski culture, unwind in an onsen (温泉) and, of course, enjoy plenty of Japanese food.

The setting also gives us an opportunity to look more closely at Japan from a language-industry perspective. We’ll explore the challenges and opportunities of the Japanese market, from localisation and content creation to the strategies international businesses need to connect with Japanese audiences.

After nine years of Strateski, we wanted the 10th to be something special.

Where we’ll be staying

We’ll be staying at The Westin Rusutsu Resort, a ski-in, ski-out hotel surrounded by Hokkaido’s mountains and world-renowned powder snow. When you’re not on the slopes, you can unwind in the hotel’s indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, explore its restaurants and make the most of its facilities.

Plenty of room

Twin-share doesn’t mean squeezing into a conventional hotel room.

All rooms at The Westin Rusutsu measure at least 76 m² and span two levels, with the bedroom upstairs and a separate living area and bathroom downstairs. High ceilings and oversized windows help make the accommodation feel even more spacious.

What’s included

For just ¥319,338 (approx. €1,780) per person, we’ll take care of all the essentials — leaving you free to hit the slopes, join the conversation and make the most of your time in Hokkaido.

Your Strateski package includes:

• Return flights from Tokyo Haneda and New Chitose (Sapporo)
• Six nights’ accommodation at The Westin Rusutsu Resort
• Breakfast & dinner
• Daily ski passes
• Private coach transfers to and from New Chitose Airport

Please note that ski rental and international flights to and from Japan are not included. Ski rental is available at the hotel and resort with a fee.

A 30% deposit is required to guarantee your place, with the remaining balance due by the end of December 2026. Please fill in the form at the following link, and we will send you an invoice and payment instructions.

Booking and payment

Ready to join us in Hokkaido? Please register your interest (here) by 10th November, 2026. 

A 30% deposit of ¥95,801 (approx. €534) per person is required to secure your place, with the remaining ¥223,537 (approx. €1,247) due by the end of December 2026.

Rooms are twin-share as standard. If you’d prefer a room of your own, a single-room supplement of ¥161,700 (approx. €902) applies.

Please note that the price above is based on 20 attendees. If the group is smaller, the cost per person will be higher, up to about ¥16,400 (approx. €91). A minimum of 10 people is required for Strateski 2027 to go ahead.

Cancellation policy

Accommodation

We understand that plans can change. However, The Westin Rusutsu Resort has a strict cancellation policy that we have no control over.. Please bear this in mind before confirming your place.

The following cancellation fees apply to the cost of accommodation for all nights:

• From 28th November 2026: 10%
• From 28th December 2026: 20%
• From 27th January 2027: 50%
• From 12th February 2027: 80%
• From 19th February 2027: 100%

Flights

The following cancellation fees apply to each one-way flight (between Tokyo and Sapporo):

• 59–45 days before departure: ¥500
• 44–30 days before departure: ¥1,000
• 29–21 days before departure: ¥1,500
• 20–7 days before departure: ¥3,000
• 6 days before to the day before departure: ¥6,000
• On the day of departure: ¥9,000

Other costs (mainly coach transfers and the planning fee)

If you cancel by 5th February 2027, you only pay the planning fee (about ¥5,000 per person). After that, you pay part of these costs:

• 6th–18th February: 20%
• 19th–24th February: 30%
• 25th February: 40%
• 26th February (departure day): 50%
• After departure, or if you do not come: 100%

If your twin-share roommate cancels, you may also be required to pay a single-room supplement for the remaining nights.

All euro prices are approximate and provided for reference only. Payments will be made in Japanese yen (JPY).
